ownCloud Infinite Scale (oCIS)
oCIS is the cloud-native, microservices core of ownCloud: a database-less, Go-built system for file sync, sharing and governance that you can run anywhere, and now with an open, self-hosted bridge to AI assistants.
Open. Original. Yours
Infinite Scale is ownCloud’s modern successor to the old PHP monolith (ownCloud 10 / oC10). It’s written in Go, split into independent microservices, and it doesn’t need a relational database to run its core. That sounds like an architecture footnote, but it’s the reason oCIS can scale horizontally, survive a single service crashing without taking the whole platform down, and deploy cleanly into containers and Kubernetes. The frontend is a Vue.js web app talking to those services over open, well-documented APIs: WebDAV, LibreGraph, and OCM for federated sharing between organizations.
ownCloud Classic 10 Source packages
The installation using the ownCloud zip or tarball is the most common option and is best for production environments. They contain all supported community and enterprise apps, so upgrading to Enterprise only requires a licence key. Aimed at experienced administrators, these packages offer the most customizable installation method.
What Is the Kiteworks Open Source Program Office?
The Kiteworks OSPO is the organizational body responsible for open-source strategy, governance, licensing, community health, and ecosystem engagement. It is led by the Vice President, Open Source Program Office at Kiteworks, operates under the ownCloud brand, and sustains the platforms, security practices, and contributor community that make sovereign open-source data exchange work in production.
Docker
If you already are “dockerized”, checkout the ownCloud Server Docker Image maintained by ownCloud. The image is aimed at experienced admins who want to benefit from the Docker environment.
